The flight response, also known as the "fight or flight" response, is a physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat to survival. It's part of the body's stress response system, and it prepares an organism to either confront the threat (fight) or escape from it (flight).
Sometimes as a result of repeated or severe trauma, the flight response can become "stuck" on often causing us to experience the same level of fear and flight response whether it's a life or death situation or simply a socially anxious one!
