This is VERSION 2 of BPD Rabbit. The re-designed version features a single button eye and new materials/design on the backpack. Version 1 will never return. But we might do a Version 3 if there are enough meaningful design suggestions and requests.
BPD is probably the single most requested rabbit design of them all. Honestly, it took us a while to work up the nerve to tackle this one but here we go...
🎉Borderline Personality Rabbit🎉
BPD is described (online and by reputable sources) as having some of the following symptoms: fear of abandonment; difficulty being alone; unstable relationships; shifting and/or distorted self-image; impulsive and/or destructive behaviors; self-harm; extreme emotional swings; chronic feelings of emptiness; and explosive anger.
But we all recognize that no such list can be all-inclusive nor does it necessarily represent your own personal experience with BPD. And, as we embark on a Crowd Design process around this rabbit, we must also accept that no single design can capture all of the variations of BPD and the specific expressions found among individuals. Whatever design we end up with will be - above all else - a 🙏compromise🙏 based on the limitations of plush design and your shared experiences.
BPD Rabbit Set Includes:
1x BPD Rabbit (27cm in length)
2x "Black and White Thinking" Bunnies (1x black, 1x white)
1x BPD Backpack (worn on the BPD Rabbit)
1x Draw-String Tote Bag
Symbolism:
Black and white mini rabbits for black and white thinking
Broken Heart with Lightning Bolt for fear of abandonment
General splitting theme for impulsivity
Bomb on the back for having to carry heavy emotions all the time while just trying to deal with regular life and dealing with negative perceptions surrounding the condition
A couple of design notes regarding the final product you see here:
Pink represents audaciousness and flamboyance. Lots of stitches to represent self-harm and/or repeated self-destruction (i.e. blow-ups). A little bomb backpack to represent, well, you know!
This product is a result of our Crowd Design Process. Initial sketches were shared on Instagram and Facebook. Those generated hundreds of comments and suggestions.
We started with a relatively simple initial design that left room for YOU to provide feedback and creative direction.
Note that our design team does not contain any persons diagnosed with BPD but we have consulted with friends that have experience with it. We relied on YOU, as a community, to help guide this design to completion.

Perfect BPD representation!
I love this BPD bunny. It represents BPD so well, with the stitches representing self harm (including unhealthy behaviors). BPD is really hard to live with. There's a lot of shame in having BPD. Even mental health professionals don't always want to work with us. The stigma is awful. So having a bunny to represent this has helped me embrace my own BPD. I hug the bunny and it's like embracing that difficult part of myself. So thank you for creating this.

Superb quality and beautiful craftsmanship
I was diagnosed with BPD when I was 17, since then I've felt unseen, unheard, and misunderstood. Ever since I stumbled across Mysterious I've had my eye on the BPD bunny. I celebrated my 39th birthday by buying this bun, and I could not be more pleased. It is so soft, yet very stuffed. Firm yet soft enough to snuggle. So beautiful and perfectly dreadful. The bomb backpack is so perfect and the mini black & white bunnies are so adorable. The bag is sturdy, durable and so fitting. I'm so glad I finally got my own BPD bunny. Highly recommend. I'm so obsessed with your products, have not been disappointed yet and now I own 12!!! My BPD bun is named Jigsaw, because even though she's (I've) been torn to pieces by this disorder, we are still beautiful and strong. Thank you, American McGee and team for creating these amazing support plushies for adults who need them!!!

Bunny is everything I could ask for
The bunny is super high quality, with good stitching and soft fur. The bag and the tags are all stunning, and overall the whole design is absolutely incredible! The drawstring is secure and holds tight, and the black and white thinking buddies were tucked snugly in the backpack. The packaging was also super secure and very waterproof. Will definitely be ordering again.
